Birds play a fundamental role in my spirituality, as they are linked to the concept of freedom and respect for the natural world. Furthermore, when combined with my passion for photography, I experience a rush of dopamine that allows me to fully enjoy my nature photography safaris.
With this in mind, some friends and I headed to the coast, specifically to El Chivo beach on the Havana coastline. It was @nanixxx's first time, and believe me, he was full of enthusiasm.
There is something fundamental: when I visit these places to photograph shorebirds, I first like to observe them, see their routine, how they interact, what scares them, and how comfortable they feel with my presence. Only then do I venture to photograph them. And honestly, even if the resulting image is not of high quality, what I enjoy most is the process, which literally fills me with life.
And that's not to mention the surprises: there are species you always expect to see because they are common, but others you don't, and seeing them suddenly appear is exciting.

I usually come here early, when the sun is less intense; after 11:00 a.m., it becomes increasingly unbearable and you have to leave. Las aves desempeñan un papel fundamental en mi espiritualidad, ya que están vinculadas al concepto de libertad y respeto por el mundo natural. Además, al combinarlo con mi pasión por la fotografía, experimento una liberación de dopamina que me permite disfrutar plenamente de mis safaris fotográficos por la naturaleza.
Teniendo esto en cuenta, algunos amigos y yo nos fuimos a la costa, específicamente a la playa El Chivo, en el litoral habanero. Era la primera vez para @nanixxx, que estaba llena de entusiasmo, créanme.
Hay algo fundamental: cuando visito estos lugares para fotografiar aves playeras, primero me gusta observarlas, ver su rutina, cómo interactúan, qué las asusta y hasta qué punto se sienten cómodas con mi presencia. Solo entonces me aventuro a fotografiarlas. Y, sinceramente, aunque la imagen resultante no sea de mucha calidad, lo que más disfruto es el proceso, que me llena de vida, literalmente. Y eso sin hablar de las sorpresas: hay especies que siempre esperas ver porque son habituales, pero otras no, y verlas llegar de pronto es emocionante.
A este lugar suelo venir temprano, cuando el sol es menos intenso; ya pasadas las 11:00 a. m. se hace cada vez más insoportable y hay que irse. Espero que la propuesta fotográfica de hoy les haya parecido bien e interesante. Siempre será un placer estar atento a los comentarios y responderles. Cuídense mucho. En esa playa recala el emisario submarino de la Habana Vieja. Los desechos generados son el alimento de muchos peces lo que permite encontralos en cantidad y por consiguiente aparecen las aves, justo en ese momento el ingenio de este fotógrafo nos regala imágenes geniales.
Es cierto lo que dices, allí las aves van a alimentarse de los desechos, por eso la gran variedad de especies y principalmente las migratorias, muchas gracias por su comentario.
