RE: The itch to shoot film

It's a real shame how the cost has locked so many people out of shooting film as freely as they used to

Yeah I started with film. That Canon is my first camera, I love the thing to bits but those film prices are insane, especially in Armenia. There's the possibility of importing. An English website I used to use is still cheaper than here. And there's the Russian versions of Amazon which tend to have some interesting brands from the East that are fairly cheaper than your standard Kodak or Ilford rolls. I used to buy rolls in bulk of at least 5 and they'd come to the price of a single roll of film today. Then there's the development cost which if I recall isn't too bad in Armenia, something like 6 gbp.

I'd love to get some more film cameras and have more fun with it, but I think in terms of having fun and getting unique characteristics from the visuals, I'd rather put that money into some vintage glass and use adapters on a digital camera. Like the Helios is great fun, and that is barely 30 gbp online! And on a digital camera it can also be used for video which is an added bonus.

Thanks for the tip by the way!
