The Chivo beach, at the exit of the Havana Bay tunnel, is one of the places par excellence for the observation of seabirds, with the city in the background, which gives the photographed landscape a special brightness and charm. However, this is complemented by the presence of fishermen at work, which is very interesting to see.
Both times I have been there I have tried to capture the dynamics of the place and I was also able to talk to some of them.
They have been going to this coastal area for years to look for sustenance for their families, and the tradition is passed on from generation to generation. This is palpable there, if you stop and watch them for a while as I did, sitting on a rock, one of those that juts out into the water.
From my "islet" I thought of the simple lives of children, young and old, weather-beaten by sun and salt, who meet every day to share experiences and knowledge. I suppose they find it rewarding in many ways because they are animated and engaged in their chores with great devotion. I spent a long time observing their fishing gear, their clothing, appropriate depending on the possibilities of each one, to be out there on the water, under the inclement sun from the early hours of the morning.
At some point during my stay there I thought that this landscape had found me and not the other way around. So I celebrated in the way those of us who cultivate this passion for photography do, and my heart was filled with joy.

Yes, that photo is really beautiful. I remember seeing him go out with the net and I watched him... every movement until he cast it, and I only took two burst shots. One of them—the first—I posted recently in Black and White, and this is the second, where the net appears more fully spread.

These fishermen come from different parts of Havana, and I've been thinking about capturing them at the bus stops and on the bus they take to reach Playa del Chivo (Chivo Beach).

La Playa del Chivo es un lugar muy interesante desde el punto de vista fotográfico. Ustedes pueden ir a observar aves. Anímate y den un brinquito hacia ese lugar jajaja... Quizás Oli encuentra a sus dragones allí dentro de los amigos plumíferos.

The images are beautiful... and in color. Looking through the comments, I was also struck by the photograph highlighted by AV, although the one I like best is this one, with that bird looking at the camera and those planes or layers, I don't know how to say it in photographic language.

Muchas gracias @mayramalu. Siempre es una alegría para mí cuando salgo a hacer fotos, y ese lugar tiene un encanto natural. Además de que es muy cambiante porque las aves son así de graciosas y alegres. Y bueno, los pescadores siempre son muy fotogénicos. Los vemos por todo el Malecón y siempre se logran bonitas imágenes, ¿verdad?

I was also curious about this photo with a fisherman throwing nets. Firstly, for the interesting dynamics that flows from this shot, and secondly, I wonder if such work is physically hard and if it is satisfying. All photos, of course, very pleasant. I like the contrast.
