The Daneshill Witches

Born in 1638 in Sheffield, the Daneshill Witches as they were then known, Agatha, Freda, and Margaret lived with father Harold, a farmer, who unfortunately died of scurvey when the sisters were in their early teens.

At some point in her youth, Agatha shared a kiss with Stinky Pete in a graveyard and grew to believe they were soulmates, despite the fact that he didn't reciprocate this feeling.

In 1654, on her sixteenth birthday, Pastor Graham arranged for Agatha to marry John Henry. Agatha passionately refused taking the Lord's name in vain. When she wouldn't relent, Graham deemed that she had defied the authority of the church and had her banished from Sheffield. Rather than let her sisters, Freda and Margaret, be taken away from her, Agatha ran away with them to the nearby Sherwood wood in Edwinstowe. There, they made the acquaintance of a forest enchantress, Faladel, who they referred to as Mother, and she sensed that Agatha, too, was a witch. The enchantress gifted Agatha a spellbook for her sixteenth birthday, but explicitly warned the three sisters against casting a spell known as the Scorpion Digestor. Mother Witch also revealed to them that by killing children witches could stay young and "ridiculously" beautiful. Later that night, Agatha and her sisters successful sought revenge against Pastor Graham by casting a spell to set fire to his home.

Afterwards, Agatha and her sisters moved into a cottage on the outskirts of Daneshill outside Retford in the late 1600's. When Agatha learned that Stinky Pete took her sister Freda as his lover, she poisoned him on May 1, 1693, and removed his tongue with a blunt hot spoon so that he could not reveal her secrets even in death.
