A splendor of flowers by the sea The Graal-Müritz Rhododendron Park was created between 1955 and 1961 by the renowned Rostock garden architect Friedrich-Karl Evert on a former sand pit. Its flora includes around 2,500 plants, including around 60 different rhododendron hybrids. These impressive plants, which come from North America and Eurasia, can reach heights of up to six meters. When the approximately 2,500 perennials fully bloom in May and June, the park shines in all colors and the air is filled with the intoxicating scent of the plants.

Events and traditions During the flowering period, the rhododendron queen tours the park, and weekly park concerts take place, treating visitors to musical performances. A special highlight is the traditional Rhododendron Park Festival, to which visitors are warmly invited. Ein Denkmal der Natur und Kultur Im Dezember 1986 wurde der Rhododendronpark zum Denkmal erklärt, was seine herausragende Bedeutung für die Natur- und Kulturlandschaft unterstreicht. Eine umfassende Sanierung des Parks von 2005 bis Ende 2007 trug dazu bei, dass Graal-Müritz einen neuen Konzertpavillon erhielt. Since the ceremonial opening in 2008, Tourismus- und Kur GmbH Graal-Müritz has regularly organized concerts, exhibitions and readings there.
