Just another day...

...with a difference as usual, and some unexpected views.

I took the first four photos from the road, as we were on our way out, and the second set of six photos from our garden when we returned back home. You will see some changes in the day and also a dove boxing (flapping) fight. The reason why I included the sun halo shots was to show you how our weather forecast for the day got things wrong. Rain was in the forecast for later in the day, but we all know that when the sun halo appears it will normally only rain two days later. And to prove this, we did not have rain on this day. Of course, we badly need rain as the dam levels are dropping at an alarming rate, and we hope that the halo's forecast will come true.
So, come and see what I have to share today.

The morning sun was hiding behind a cloud, and at this stage it looked like we might have rain.

But there are always hidden signs that one has to decipher, and this told me that things will change rapidly with the clouds streaming in.

The blue sky color started to take on a darker hue.

And now let's have a look what things looked like later in the day.

That sun halo was determined to stay up even though the skies started to darken.

A pair of birds flew past the cloud covered sun, and you can see that it looked it would rain.

Talking about birds, let me show you a bird fight with a squirrel onlooker.
030.JPG

As the birds dropped down below the gate, a squirrel came in to watch the action.

The fight continued down in the road.

And the squirrel decided to rather look away. He is a peaceful being.

The squirrels and us are used to doves attacking each other, as their territories are very close to each other. The one dove has his territory in a tree across the road, and the other one's territory is here in our garden. So, quite often the doves cross over the road into each other's territory, and then a fight is always on the cards. It's great to watch and nobody gets hurt, as it's just a sham of a fight with the doves trying to scare each other. As I said, we are used to the sham fights, and the squirrels are not innocent, as at times they also chase each other around at dinner time.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
