When I take sunsets, I also remind myself not to forget the trees.

This time round, the red and pink colors behind the trees made for some lovely shots. Once I have completed the sunset shots on the sea, then it's the trees' turn as we can see them from the road on our return home. By this time the sun has run its course and has slowly sunk behind the horizon. The magic is that then some late and great colors continue to hang in the sky.
I wonder how many poems have been written about African sunsets. For instance, higher up north in the country this tree could have been an elephant or a giraffe, but down here only the Stone Pine and Acacia trees grow in the area that I took the photos. But in the photos down below, you will see how the trees changed as we neared our home. I discovered the trick of the sunset tree shots upon our return, a long time ago, after I took a sunset.
Did I say pink? Oh yes, and the story is that when pink colors appear in the sky at a sunset, then the next day will be hot.
You can still see the beachfront through the trees on the horizon.
The sky looked like strips of candy in the sky.
And then it was serious stuff, as the dark started to set in.
The pinks deepened in a final effort to show their beauty.
We were almost at home when I took this shot below.
Isn't it amazing how people hang on to their mobile phones these days, and as soon as some of them see me standing outside with my camera lined up on the sunset, then all of a sudden, we have quite a few also lifting their mobile phones to take pictures of the sunset. So many others are so busy on their screens that they don't even see the sunset. I wonder what would happen if a law was made that bans mobile phones:)
Just trying to have some fun with my remarks, as I could not close an eye to sleep last night, and today I feel like a ghost. In my younger days, I used to work double shifts for extra income to support my family, but nowadays if I miss a night's sleep, I walk around shaking like a tree shaking in the wind. We want to wish all of you a great new week, and soon Christmas will be upon us.
Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Incredible! It doesnt look real!! Movie made photographies!
beautiful! reminded me of lion king :)
god bless you
Beautiful composition! I often chase sunsets myself – and you're right, it's the trees that make them feel grounded. Especially when you're capturing them somewhere on the road… 🚛📸
Wowww, great silhouettes of trees, amazing colors of the sky

Well I am not @daveks but he has inspired me to snap sunsets when I see them.
A photographer told me the best camera is the one you have with you.
Makes sense especially since the resolution and automatic processing power of smart phones has come so far.
I love a good sunset knowing all of the other ones I see are the same sun I am capturing setting on the same planet. Just different horizons.
nice shot of the sunset! i felt like i could see the real sunset every afternoon.
i also don't know what will happen if cellphones or anything we use the internet for disappear haha. maybe people's lives will become boring especially since they are used to gadgets.

STOPI really felt this! Nowadays, many people forget to look up from their screens and just enjoy nature. Your photos remind me why I love watching sunsets.
