Landscape Photography: natural beauty of Ojcow National Park

in Photography Lovers4 years ago (edited)

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

I am going to take you on a little photography tour around a national park in my today´s post. The national park is called Ojcow and it´s the smallest national park in Poland. But what this park might lack in size, it greatly makes up for in beauty as it´s also considered one of the most beautiful and picturesque national parks in the country.

Unfortunately, the timing of our visit of Ojcow was not very good. We were there in mid April, some two months ago, which is normally the time when nature is already waking up after the winter sleep and everything is turning green here in Central Europe but the winter was unusually long this year and the vegetation in the park was obviously still in hibernation. That´s why the photos that you are going to see below are so gray and dull. Moreover, although the weather forecast was originally quite promising for the day, we ended up having a cloudy sky and even some showers during the trip. Still, however, the place made a great impression on me and I am sure that by now, that nature is finally in full bloom, Ojcow must be breathtakingly beautiful. Maybe you can tell even by these not so convincing photos.

I hope you still enjoyed at least some of those pictures. As usually, I tried not to have other people in the photos but some spots were really crowded so it was practically impossible to take 100% people-free shots sometimes.

As you might have noticed, the first part of the collection features photos taken from the ground level while the final part consists of panoramic shots taken from various view points situated in the surrounding hills. A good portion of the trails lead through the hills and there are numerous lookout spots with amazing views overlooking the valley so if you happen to visit the park, make sure to go for some climbing too, it´s totally worth it ;)

As I already mentioned, the Ojcow National Park is very small with its total area being just over 20 sq km (approximately 8 sq mi) so you can explore and see most of it in just one day trip. The park is mostly famous for its remarkable rocks formations, bedrocks, limestone cliffs, ravines and even 400 caves so there is really a lot to see in there. There are also a few spots where you can buy some refreshment so you don´t need to bring your own food but we did and it was great to have snack while enjoying the wonderful views from the top of the cliff.

The Ojcow National Park is located just a short drive from Krakow or you can also get there easily by the bus. The closest villages to the park are Ojcow and Czajowice and the little town of Skala is also nearby. All of these locations can be used as the base for the exploration of the national park.

Hi boss,400 caves? For me that's some thrill already. I see "Witamy" on the bill-board,is that "welcome"?

For me, I know not the park when things are fully green,so the impression I get here is a beautiful place with a nice, cool ambience.A place to just admire the "fearful" beauty of creation. Thanks for taking us to Poland just like that.🕺
My name is Eliakim,I'm new in this Hive set-up and still very much learning the ropes with little or no guide. Firstly I want to appreciate you for coming out to give me a warm welcome some days back. I do not take that gesture of yours for granted and I could have thanked you before now only that I didn't know one can't just be dropping messages around without what you guys called "Resource credit". I had to wait till it increases.
Please savour my latest:

It will lead you into something funny about my birthday.

Finally I don't mind all the help you or anyone can offer that I grow quickly here.

Best regards sir.

Hey Eliakim, thanks for this nice and thoughtful feedback. Let me check out and support some of your content so that you don´t have these issues with resource credit anymore in future ;) Sorry about that, the beginnings can be quite hard. Just don´t give up and try to be constistent and persistent, it will pay off in the end.

There are some really beautiful formations 😊 love the way nature always finds a way to leave you speechless with its beauty and hidden caves ❤️

Thanks for stopping and leaving this nice comment Gabriela, I appreciate it :) Yeah, the rock formations are very cool there. We actually have a place with very similar rocks in the Czech Republic too. Nature can do wonders everywhere :)

Oh, and they also look very similar to a place from my country too. Check it here. I haven't visited this place yet, but it's on my list :)

Always my pleasure to stop on your posts. I wish I could be more active :)

It looks great just as it is, even without the full bloom!

Well, a bit too dull for my liking back then but I have a great imagination and I think I can imagine pretty well how beautiful it must be now :) Thanks for checking out the photos my friend!

My pleasure, thank you for sharing them!

Pěkné místo. Ty skály se mi líbí. Asi bych zůstal jen na nich :-)

Vidíš, zase bych zapomněl přidat tvůj tag. Asi mi bude chvíli trvat, než si na to zvyknu :)

Well said :) Thank you very much for checking it out.

It's really beautiful, without exaggeration.... I would love to go, thank you for showing.... You have nice pictures

Thanks :) Really happy to get such a lovely feedback on this post.

beatiful!!!!

This park screams for a bicycle ride (first thing I thought of when I saw the second picture.) I also like those finger styled peaks.

Actually, there was quite a lot of bikers there too. Glad to see your "ultimate biker mindset" is still there, unaffected by that recent incident of yours :)

It only gets stronger! Itchy itchy legs Haa

What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, literally :D

i dont think we have parks this huge and open from where im from, you're photos make it an exciting adventure! 😄 thank you for sharing!

Thanks for checking out the shots man :) Yeah, Poland is a big country (by European standards I mean :D) and it has a lot to offer in terms of natural beauty but there is actually a very similar place in my Czech homeland too.

Hi there, @phortun with please have always had that part of the world in mind to visit for it's beauty and still do never know I might be there one day :)
