Thank you very much for your kind feedback, support and curation my friend! Well, I think that the original houses look just as beautiful but they probably are not open to public. You can see that some houses are locked. These are probably the original ones and their owners just don´t want the tourists to hang around their homes :) The roofs are interesting indeed. It actually rains very often on Madeira so I cannot really imagine how the straw roofs can protect the interior from the water but it obviously works, somehow :D
