Greetings, photography lovers
Insects—and arthropods in general, the order to which they belong—are the living organisms that have best adapted to the various climate changes that have occurred on our planet.
While many other species have gone extinct over the course of different geological eras—the most dramatic example being the dinosaurs, who ceased to be dominant when they perished due to a meteorite that struck the ocean— The surviving dinosaurs died of cold due to the climate change that resulted from this event.
Insects and other arthropods, such as arachnids, share the characteristics of being small in size and having no bones, but rather an exoskeleton to which their legs are attached. Their bodies contain a substance called chitin, which provides them with protection and strength.
Insects are fascinating, and their variety is vast. They are the animal group with the greatest number of species on the planet.
I like to photograph them in their various habitats because they are commonly found everywhere. The shape and color of their wings, antennae, legs, and heads are incredibly varied and wonderful.
Jaws and stingers
Wasps are among my favorites, and here I’m showing you three different species while they were feeding.
Butteeflies🦋
Butterflies, with their beautiful and striking colors, flutter among the flowers in search of nectar. This butterfly is known by a very funny name: the Orange-spotted Moon Butterfly.
But not all butterflies are colorful; the ones we call moths come in light or dark colors, and we can find them inside our homes, like this beautiful sand-colored moth I photographed on my tablecloth.
Cocos 🐞
Beetles, commonly called “cocos” or “escarabajos,” also have very beautiful colors and funny names, like this tiny one I photographed on my bedsheet, called the “Vaquita de San Antonio.”
Or this slightly larger one that was on a leaf.
In the windows 🐝
This green bee was on the window frame. The iridescent spot is very striking. I believe that when bees are alone and enter a place to take shelter, it’s because they have little time left to live.
And in this photograph, a bug protects the eggs it has laid on the window.
It is nature’s absolute perfection.
On the web 🕸
And to conclude this series of photographs, there is the one of the spider, which I observed in the garden among the plants where it had spun its web, waiting to capture any insect that fell into its net. One has to admire its patience in waiting.
Los insectos y en general los artrópodos, el orden donde se incluyen, son los organismos vivientes que mejor se han adaptado a los diferentes cambios climáticos que han ocurrido en nuestro planeta.
Mientras muchas otras especies se han extinguido en las diferentes eras geológicas y el ejemplo más drastico es el de los dinosaurios, que dejaron de ser dominantes, cuando perecieron por un meteorito que cayó en el mar. Los dinosaurios sobrevivientes murieron de frio por el cambio clímático que se produjo, como consecuencia de este.
Los insectos y otros artrópodos como los arácnidos tienen en común su pequeño tamaño y que no tienen huesos sino un exoesqueleto en el cual se articulan las patas. En su constiución tienen una sustancia llamada quitina que les da protección y resistencia.
Los insectos son fascinantes y su variedad es muy grande. Son el grupo de animales con mayor número de especies en el planeta.
Me gusta fotografiarlos en sus diferentes ambientes, porque es muy común encontrarlos en cualquier lugar. Y es que la forma y el color de sus alas, antenas, patas y cabeza es muy variable y maravillosa.
Mandíbulas y aguijones
Las avispas son unos de mis preferidas y aca les muestro tres especies diferentes mientras se alimentaban.
Mariposas 🦋
Las mariposas con sus colores hermosos y llamativos que revolotean las flores buscando el néctar. A esta mariposa la identifican con un nombre muy gracioso "Mariposa lunita de parche naranja".
Pero no todas las mariposas son llamativas, las que llamamos polillas tienen colores claros u oscuros y podemos encontrarlas dentro de las casas, como este hermosa polilla de color arena que fotografié en el mantel de mi mesa.
Cocos 🪲
Los coleópteros, llamados comunmente cocos o escarabajos tambien tienen colores muy hermosos y nombres también graciosos como este pequeñito que fotografie sobre la sábana de mi cama llamado "Vaquita de San Antonio".
O este un poco mas grande que estaba sobre una hoja.
En las ventanas
Esta abeja verde estaba sobre el marco de la ventana. La mancha fosgorescente es muy atractiva. Yo creo que cuando las abejas estan solas y entran a un lugar para protegerse es porque les queda poco tiempo de vida.
Y en estas fotografía un chinche protege los huevos que ha puesto en la ventana.
Es una perfección absoluta de la naturaleza.
En la red
Y para terminar esta serie de fotografías, está la de la araña, que observé en el jardín entre plantas donde había elaborado su telaraña esperando capturar cualquier insecto que cayera en su red. Hay que admirar su paciencia para esperar.
