Continuing my recovery from Long-COVID, I went for a woodland walk yesterday evening in Withdean Park, Brighton and Hove, this time I stuck to the woodland trails and with the Sigma 70mm MACRO lens.
The beauty of walking in the woodland is that the shade from the trees shelters you from the sun's heat, allowing me to take my time and find the things that interest me.
My first shot was of the new ivy leaves; their lime green colour was in stark contrast to the older darker leaves and the rich brown soil of the woodland floor:

Similar could be said of the new leaves from the trees of the woodland, especially those growing at ground level, which almost had the appearance of chlorosis (lack of chlorophyll), creating a beautiful contrast between the veins:

Venturing towards the edge of the woodland, we found some white Lilacs making for a very busy but intricate subject to study:

Near the Lilac was a Budlia that had just started to flower; this shrub is often called the Butterfly Tree as the showy purple blooms attract numerous colourful butterflies as the season progresses.

We found several of these Orange Lilly (Lilium bulbiferum) scattered around the edge of the woodland, adding a burst of colour if you take the time to look for them:
