There is this legend that you can make a deal with a devil if you summon a demon at a crossroad. Well wondering how much truth there is in this legend I headed to a crossroad in fields nearby. After putting up the camera and chanting some protections I tried my luck.
Shorty after a burning portal opened up in one of the lanes and a demon stepped out cracking her whip at apparitions trying to flee from whatever plane the portal was coming from.
Es gibt eine Legende die besagt das man ein Pakt mit dem Teufel eingehen kann wenn man einen Dämon auf einer Kreuzung beschwört. Da ich ein wenig zu neugierig bin wollte ich diese Legende mal auf Herz und Nieren testen. Nachdem ich also meine Kamera aufgebaut und ein paar Schutzbeschwörungen gemurmelt habe versuchte ich mein Glück.
Kurz darauf erschien ein flammendes Portal neben der Kreuzung und ein Dämon schritt hindurch, mit einer Peitsche seltsame Kreaturen zurück drängend die hinter ihr durch das Portal flüchten wollten.
With a snap of her fingers she quickly turned into a business outfit, stepped into the summoning circle and confronted me to ask what kind of deal I am seeking out. A little baffled that the summoning even worked I tried to explain that I don't want to sign any contract and just summoned her out of curiosity. I was just out to get to know her a little and you know the price is a little high for anything she would offer... soul and all that. Good thing I caught her on a good day because after a little chit chat she was flattered that I wanted to take photos of her and agreed to not claim and contract from me that day.
Mit einem Fingerschnips wechselte Sie darauf in einen Business Anzug, nahm ihre Position in meinem Beschwörungskreis ein und fragte mich was für ein Geschäft ich mit ihr abschließen wollte. Ein wenig schockiert das überhaupt etwas passiert ist versuchte ich ihr zu erklären das ich eigentlich nur neugierig war ob es klappt und gar kein Vertag abschließen wollte. Ich wollte sie nur ein wenig kennenlernen und der Preis für diese Art der Verträge ist mir ein wenig hoch... ihr wisst schon, Seele und so. Glücklicherweise habe ich sie wohl an einen guten Tag erwischt und sie war recht geschmeichelt das ich sie Fotografieren wollte, daher stimmte sie nach ein wenig Smalltalk zu das sie heute keinen Vertrag einfordern würde.
After chatting for a while and sharing a nice cup of tea together she had to leave. I was prepared to see that scary portal again but as it turns out she had another appointment on this plane. So in the end she turned back into her demon clothes, waved me goodbye and sprout fiery wings to take off into the night.
Wir unterhielten uns eine Weile und tranken genüsslich Tee zusammen bis sie gehen musste. Ich befürchtete schon das sich ein weiteres Portal öffnet aber scheinbar hatte sie noch einen weiteren Termin auf dieser Existenzebene. Zum Abschied wechselte sie wieder in ihr Dämonen Outfit, winkte mir zum abschied und flog mit flammenden Flügeln davon in die Nacht.
All the photos where created using two tripods and two lenses during the same exposure. The portal and wings were crated by burning steel wool on the ground, in case of the wings with a stencil over it. The summoning circle is a stencil in front of the camera lined up so it shows up around the model.
After doing the effects I covered the camera to not let any light in and switched the lens and tripod for the scene with the model in it. Using different flashlights the scene is then lit as if the effects are really in the scene. Alignement is key to create these kind of combines exposure photos.
Alle Fotos wurden mit zwei Stativen und zwei Objektiven gemacht. Das Portal und die Flügel sind brennende Stahlwolle, im Fall der Flügel noch mit einer Schablone darüber. Der Beschwörungskreis ist eine Schablone die auf die Szene ausgerichtet vor der Kamera platziert wurde.
Nach den Effekten verdeckt man die Kamera damit kein Licht eindringen kann, wechselt das Objektiv und setzt die Kamera auf ein Static für die Szene. Mit mehreren Taschenlampen wird die Szene dann so beleuchtet als wenn die Effekte wirklich lebensgroß in der Szene vorhanden sind.
