A while back I was able to go into an abandoned hotel for some nights. While there were no haunting or ghost stories about that place that the owner heard of it was still a very nice place to play around with the concept of a haunted hotel.
Vor einer Weile hatte ich die Chance ein verlassenes Hotel für ein paar Nächte zu besuchen. Zwar gab es keine Geister Stories zu dem Hotel die dem Eigentümer bekannt waren trotzdem luden die Räume quasi dazu ein mit dem heimgesuchten Hotel Thema zu spielen.
For the first image that came to mind I had a friend put his arm at several places around a door frame and lit that arm on each spot. Some eerie lighting in the hallway completed the look.
Für die erste Idee hat ein Bekannter seinen Arm an verschiedene Stellen um einen Türrahmen gelegt und ich habe an jeder Position den Arm beleuchtet. Eine etwas schummrige Beleuchtung des Flurs rundet das Foto ab.
In the same hallway some evil spirits were easily created using a stencil for the eyes and a short fiber optic cable lit by a colored flashlight.
Im selben Flur ließen sich auch böse Geister mit einer Augen Schablone und einem kurzen Glasfaser Kabel heraufbeschwören.
A room in the attic offered a great place to put a portal to heaven. In case some of the ghosts haunting the hotel finally found peace they would have a doorway to the next plane. The portal was created by putting a stencil in front of the camera to do the frame itself, then taking it away and lighting the room in a way that the light came from the spot where the portal is.
Ein Raum im Dachgeschoss bot sich an ein Portal zum Himmel zu öffnen. Vielleicht finden ja ein paar der Geister im Hotel frieden und brauchen einen Weg in die nächste Welt. Das Portal wurde mit einer Schablone vor der Kamera erstellt. Danach wurde die Schablone zur Seite gestellt und der Raum so ausgeleuchtet als wenn das Licht von dem Portal selbst kommt.
And finally a doorway to hell should not be missing. In case some of the ghosts don't behave all that friendly those have a place to go too.
This portal was created with some steel wool on the ground then changing lens and tripod for the scene and lighting the room so that it appears the red light comes directly from the flaming portal.
Und schlussendlich darf auch ein Portal in die Hölle nicht fehlen. Gibt ja auch unartige Geister die nicht durch das Portal im Dachgeschoss dürfen.
Dieses Portal wurde mit brennender Stahlwolle auf dem Boden gemacht. Nach dem Abbrennen das Objektiv an der Kamera und das Stativ für die Szene gewechselt und der Raum so beleuchtet damit das rote Licht von der Stelle kommt an der das Portal erscheint.

Well I asked the owner if I can do some haunting stuff, but yeah that is what I had in mind when I got there 😀

Jepp. Ein mal durch das ganze Hotel geleuchtet. Zumindest die Teile die man betreten konnte. Aber auch noch ein paar mal danach hin gegangen.
