HI Hivers!
This is a sight that is rare to see and I only saw it a couple of times in my lifetime. I rescued this praying mantis from the jaws of one of my cats. It seemed unharmed but definitely scared and in defence mode. These wings are so beautiful but are normally so tucked up out of sight you would never know that a praying mantis has such large and beautiful wings concealed about its person!
This one seemed to be just shades of green but once in the past I saw one that was not only green winged but had shining iridescent blue rings on the Wings too. Just incredible!
When you see them in their normal state as in the photo below its amazing to think so much pretty wings are hidden there.
