Chandranath Pahar
The eastern part of the Himalayas separated from the Chandranath Pahar Himalayas. This mountain runs south and southeast of the Himalayas through the Indian states of Assam and Tripura, crossing the Feni River and joining Chittagong. Its length is about 70 km from Feni river to Chittagong city in Chittagong part. Sitakunda Eco Park has been built at the foot of this hill.
On top of a huge hill there is an awakened Shiva temple. It is a place of pilgrimage for devotees of the Hindu community including saints and monks. Also an exciting place for tourists. Tourists flock from far and wide to see the beauty of this mountain. Many people get tired of climbing this huge mountain and come down. Many people return from there with the joy of conquering the mountain.
According to scriptures and history, Mahamuni Bhargava lived here. Ramachandra, son of King Dasharatha of Addha, came here during his exile. Knowing that they would come, Mahamuni Bhargava created three pools for bathing here. Then Ramachandra's wife Sita bathed in this tank. Since then the place was named Sitakunda.
What to see in Chandranath Pahar tour
It is possible to see the Shiva temple on the top of Chandranath Hill. But for this you have to pass more than 2200 stairs. The stairs in some places are so slippery and narrow that it can be dangerous to climb. And you understand, if you move a little, you will slip into the mountain ditch.
This road is completely hilly and has some broken stairs. And almost the entire path on the right side is a staircase which is quite difficult to climb. Many climb this route and turn back halfway.
Required information
Although the height of Chandranath Hill is not very high, the path to its summit is quite narrow and inaccessible. No one should attempt to climb the mountain in haste. It can cause any major accident. Also, follow specific routes to climb and descend hills. Never attempt to ascend or descend in reverse.
