~ I went on a fun adventure with my brother. We went to Viminacium ~

Some interesting facts about Viminacium

• Viminacium is an archaeological site near Stari Kostolac. The Roman military camp and city was created in the 1st century and lasted until the beginning of the 7th century. It was one of the most important legion camps on the Danube, and for some time it was also the capital of the Roman province of Upper Moesia, which included most of Serbia, northern Macedonia and part of northwestern Bulgaria.

• It was the seat of a bishop in the 4th century, and later it received the status of a metropolis. The first known metropolitan of Viminacium is Metropolitan Amant. After the barbarian invasion (Avars and Huns) led by Attila, the city was destroyed in 441. With the arrival of the Slavs, the settlement of Braničevo was created on the remains of Viminacium.

• In 2012, a 4000-year-old figurine of a female deity was discovered in Viminacium. It is the twin of the Klitschko idol discovered in 1881. In 2013, an altar dedicated to nymphs was found, and in 2014, they found marble statues and a golden necklace from the Roman period. Excavation of the Roman military camp began in 2017. In 2018, sarcophagi from the Roman era that were not previously looted and a tomb believed to belong to a young emperor were found.

The human differences

• Everyone is different in their own way. There are many racists in today's world and they all judge people by their appearance. Mostly when a man appears in a city, who is different from the others, everyone stares at him and condemns him. I have never had a problem with that and I would love to meet someone who is completely different from my appearance.

• In viminacium I had the opportunity to see human differences. They put up these adorable head sculptures and put every variety.

• The White race, or Caucasian race, is one of the three main human races, including people of European descent. It is characterized by light skin, often blue or light eyes and light hair. This categorization of species is a social construction and has no scientific basis, but is used in sociological and anthropological contexts.

• The black race, also known as the African race, includes people from the African continent and their descendants around the world. This race has a rich cultural and historical heritage, but also faces challenges such as racism and inequality.

• The common human race, Homo sapiens sapiens, is a species of primate that is widely distributed throughout the world today. It is characterized by a high degree of intelligence, ability to speak and complex social behavior. This species evolved about 300,000 years ago and today is the dominant species on planet Earth.

The blue room

• The Blue Room in Viminacium, an archaeological park, is fascinating! It is a replica of an ancient Roman room that was discovered during archaeological excavations. This room reveals how people lived in ancient times, with its stylized frescoes and characteristic furniture. A visit to this room provides a unique insight into life in the past.

• Its walls are decorated with faded frescoes, while the light passing through the windows creates a play of shadows and light. On the floor, a mosaic preserved for centuries tells its story of ancient splendor. In the silence of that room, one can sense the ghosts of times past quietly whispering their secrets, waiting to be revealed.

• Legend has it that the mosaic on the floor in Vinacium's blue room is the work of an exceptional artist, whose name has been lost in the vortex of time. It is believed that the mosaic was created many centuries ago, in the era when Vinacium was ruled by powerful emperors and when art flourished like the most beautiful kindergarten. This mosaic, known as the "Blue Dream", was a symbol of prosperity and peace for the people of Vinacium. Legend has it that each piece of mosaic was handcrafted with love and care, and that the colors used to create it were brought from the farthest reaches of the empire. The mosaic is believed to have survived many centuries, bearing witness to the glory and downfall of Vinacium, but its beauty remains unrelenting, as a reminder of the passing of time and the eternal power of art to survive all adversities.

• Each of these sculptures in the Blue Room of the Viminacium carries with it a unique story and symbolism, representing precious artifacts from the ancient world that remind us of the richness and complexity of the Roman heritage.

~ Each one is special in its own way, I would be happy to tell you about each character that is on those sculptures, but that would take forever... Unfortunately, I can't do it, but if you are interested, you can find it somewhere. ☺️ ~

Looks like a great place to visit!

Yes, we're all one race, the human race scientifically called Homo sapiens sapiens. We may look different but that's a cool thing - how boring would it be if we all looked the same! The sooner we all realize we're all basically the same under our skin, and start treating every single person with dignity and respect, the better off we will all be.

Great post, very interesting! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and the awesome pics! :)

Thanx! ☺️
