Photography Lovers End of Year Contest by Scrodinger

Many of the photos on this list are unlikely to be "the best" in terms of art, but they are the best for me personally, as memories of certain events. I'll start with the photos that were taken in early 2021 and end with recent ones.

Snowy Odesa

It was my first winter in this city and I am happy that it turned out to be so rich in snow. Honestly, it seems to me that I have never seen as much snow in my life as I saw in those few days. From the point of view of both an ordinary person and looking at the world through the lens of the camera, I can say with confidence that the snow will change everything around very much!

Bare trees turn into pictures from children's books, the usual grey road becomes like a "path to Santa", and the houses get a new look and certain elements that you did not notice before become more noticeable.

Holiday dogs

What photos can be better than pets? I decided to use the photo with horns as a postcard for friends and relatives. These dogs can get the status of "meme dogs", because, given the expression on their faces, you can write any text. And it will be perfect!

And the photo of Cooper's head under the bed is the first thing I saw after the new year. He was afraid of fireworks and decided to hide under the bed. But it was already quite difficult to get out of there because his ass was very disturbing. So he just lay there waiting to be released from captivity.

Opera house

This was my first visit to the Odesa Opera House. Until then, I only photographed him from the outside, and I saw everything inside in other people's photos. And so the day came when I got into this building!
You can see the elements of decor endlessly! Every second you find something new and wonder how skillfully all this is done.

Sea

IMG_20210717_214706_231.jpgIMG_20210720_202007-01-01.jpeg

The sea is my favourite subject. The photos were taken in the summer and it was quite difficult to capture the moment when there will be the fewest people in the frame. I love taking pictures of the sea! After all, it is always perfect.

My goal for the near future is to photograph the winter sea when it is snowing, there are no strangers and it's all yours.

The first attempt at concert photography

I am happy that this year, despite the quarantine restrictions, I managed to attend a concert by the band, which I really like. And I'm also very glad that I was even able to take some cool shots of their performance on my smartphone.
At least I like them and many of my acquaintances said it turned out pretty cool.

Several random shots

I love to take photos from this angle. It seems to me that in this case, even ordinary buildings look much more original. In the photo, you see a passage in Odesa, which is somewhat reminiscent of Milan. This passage is more than 100 years old, it is quiet, calm and very beautiful.

A photo that is incredibly valuable to me. Here you can see the "March of Defenders of Ukraine". The photo shows the military who defended and are defending my country during the war. There are also relatives of the dead children, including many children.

I don't like pigeons! But one day this character settled on my windowsill and lived there for about a day. He slept almost all the time. However, despite the fact that I do not like these birds very much, I tried not to interfere with his recovery. She didn't turn on the lights in that room in the evening, she tried to go in there as rarely as possible and not make noise.

However, I could not pass by the opportunity to photograph the pigeon so close. Although through the window, but still. By the way, my new friend calmly went about his business the next day.

Awesome shots. This is a great example of how photos can have so much more meaning to the person taking them. That opera house looks amazing.

A huge thank you! I didn't think I could tell so much about these photos. And when the post was ready, I was very surprised)))))

All great shots and so interesting to read how they mean something special to you

I to hope to catch some shots by the sea when the snows come in the coming weeks

Thanks! Before I sat down to write this post, I did not think that such a story would come out for photographs)
Oh, I'm looking forward to snow to get to the sea and finally photograph it in winter. It was insanely cold last year to do that. I'm sorry, of course. But this year I am serious about going to the sea, these shots are definitely worth it!

Most welcome, its snowing here at the moment, but looks like it wont amount to much and its my Wifes Birthday today so because of that and so cold out I think I will wait for a future snow to head to the beach

Each photo tells a story, you have some wonderful and not so great memories wrapped up through the year.

"March of Defenders of Ukraine" it's sad how people spend so much of life having to speak out against things we do not agree with.

Thank you! The day I attended the "March of the Defenders of Ukraine" was actually one of the best in my entire life.
Although I was not in very good condition, I went there anyway. And I never regretted it.
It is an incredible feeling, being next to such strong and courageous men and women who guard my peace and quiet. I felt completely safe and calm. So that I can live in peace, blogging, walking, going to cinemas and concerts.
And next year I will definitely go again. Although I dream that this damn war will end and no one else has to risk their lives and health for peace.

Marches for good reason and cause should be used to bring about change, sadly many today turn ugly into more demonstration than peaceful walk and presenting a mayor or leader a list of grievances.

Safer life is what we too seek, it is going to take a long time before we are able to walk as freely as we did years ago.

Hope your Christmas is peaceful and the country finds peace as a whole soon.

This march was peaceful. And it was not so much for the government as for ordinary citizens of our country, so that they understand what is happening. Of course, from one or two or three marches you cannot get 100% of the government, but you can show ordinary people the truth.
I would like the critical issues in my country to be resolved by an ordinary march or picket. But it doesn't work that way. In 2013-2014, we had to die for the truth (
If interested, I can talk about this in the following posts.

Good to let people know how one feels especially after such a long time of dishevel.

We too have walks/marches to try assemble people into standing up for what they feel is right. Now a little older I no longer go out but support where I am able, too many things have gone wrong, one cannot turn a blind eye.

I can only leave you with a word of encouragement that hopefully things will change, share the beautiful things around you, help make change wherever possible.

I like them :)

Thanks! It's nice to read that ❤️
