Flower Photography - Dancing Petals

IMG_1088.JPG

This is actually an old photo, but still one of my favorites. Korea has tons of cherry blossom trees and each year they are quite special to see and enjoy. We were taking a walk on a rather windy day and petals were falling down like snow. We were completely surrounded by them. For some reason, I really enjoyed the way they danced across the street. It was such a cool experience to see a wave of petals dancing and swaying in the breeze. I took maybe 30+ photos of them trying to get the shot where some were in focus and some were not, I needed just the right balance. I doubt I got exactly the shot I was hoping for, but I think this one tuned out ok. It made me think of how little we appreciate the small things. We need to step back more and just sit and look at our surroundings. One petal is nice, but thousands of them flowing like water and surrounding you, bliss!

At the first sight I thought it was raining. It's cool to see those petals of cherry blossom dancing on the ground. That reminds me of romantic Korean movies.

Yeah, they love to use these in romantic Korean movies so you are 100% right there!
