Labour Day and a Perfect Day for Relaxation

Today is May 1st, Labour Day, which is celebrated in various ways here in Croatia.
Thank God, the day was beautiful and hot.
The temperature climbed up to a high 31 degrees, just like summer.

In big cities like Zagreb and Split, beans with sausages are served in open spaces like squares and parks, music plays from all directions, and there are usually various politicians around trying to win a few more votes from the people ahead of the upcoming local elections.

Most people around me went to the Krka Waterfalls National Park, which is truly beautiful, and I think everyone who visits Croatia should see that place, with its stunning waterfalls, nature, and old mills where flour used to be ground.
Some go to meadows and parks, bringing their own barbecues, meat, vegetables, and drinks, and relax there.
This year, my family and I decided to go to the countryside, also in nature, to my wife’s father and brother.
My wife’s sister, her husband, and their kids also came, and some local children joined us too—because that's how it is in villages—and there were quite a few of us, and it was wonderful.
Music was playing while my wife’s sister and I were doing the barbecue.
They brought theirs and we brought our electric grill, and we bought meat, juices, beer, salads, cakes, and snacks, and we had a great time.
There was a cheerful and family-like atmosphere at the table.

Tomorrow is already a working day again, and I'm really sorry it all went by so quickly because it was amazing, and I wish we could do something like this at least once a week—gather together and enjoy food and drinks, and of course, the most beautiful part of all: conversation.
