📷 Cathedral Cove

in Photography Lovers3 years ago (edited)

Cathedral Cove is located in the southern part of Mercury Bay on the Coromandel Peninsula, North Island, New Zealand. There is a wonderful rock arch through which you can see Te Hoho Rock — a beautiful sight.

You can walk through this arch-tunnel and imagine that you actually find yourself in wonderful Narnia — well, at least it happened so during the filming of "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" there :)

At low tide, you can walk here almost without getting your feet wet, at high tide you should definitely take off your shoes — but aren't the gentle ocean waves pleasant in themselves?

A very scenic trail from a settlement of Hahei leads here, it is about 1.7 km long, if you do not turn off anywhere — but I will tell you more about the trail, the cove and its surroundings later. And this post is my entry for the SEAPHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST.

It's better to watch the photo in high resolution.

Nice photo but this is in the North Island of New Zealand

Thank you very much for noticing this annoying typo - I have already corrected it, of course this is the North Island, I don't even know how I can make such a mistake in the text :)
Glad you liked the photo!

Nice shot! I've taken a few myself of the cove. Don't forget to visit the Pourhouse for some great craft beer, and say hi to Neil and Karen for me!

If I were there now, I would do so ... but alas, I'm not in New Zealand right now. I was there only once in 2018, and I still remember these wonderful places.
Hope you can go there yourself and have another great beer there and say all the greetings! :)

बहुत सुंदर सर 👌👌❤️

This is the merit of a wonderful place :)

What a gorgeous vision for our eyes to feast upon! @sharker

"The Chronicles of Narnia" was filmed there? I'm surprised no sequels to "The Pirates of the Caribbean" have been made around the area.

This is definitely a great place. Thank you!

I can't say for sure about the "Pirates", I didn't look for information, but I don't remember that view there :)

Awesome photo - I've been there quite a few times but never taken any photos like that!

(a minor detail - that is North Island not South)

Oh, of course North Island, I wonder where my eyes were when my fingers typed?! :) This detail is of course important, thanks for noticing and correcting me!

The view of the rock through the arch in the rock - I immediately wanted to take this photo as soon as I saw this place :) As for the water, just take a long exposure when the camera is on a tripod, and the water is so smooth.

that photo is perfect!

Thanks a lot! :)
