How nice and beautiful in the summer over flood meadows! The picturesque traces on the ground and the pond are the remains of the Nerl River flooding in the spring, surrounding the church from all sides during high water.
Over time, the water decreases, and the meadows become densely green from the grass, rejoicing in both moisture and the sun. But traces remain — deepenings, like waves on the earth's surface, filled with gradually leaving water.
Previously, the herds of the surrounding villages grazed there, but now this territory is specially protected, together with the church, forming a historical and landscape complex of regional significance "Bogolyubovsky Meadow - the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl". The church itself is protected and restored (I showed and talked a little about it earlier), as well as the picturesque meadow landscape around it.
And this was not done in vain — many people, both praying and ordinary tourists, visit this place every year and see it in all its beauty. I have been there several times, and always got some new emotions and saw different views. During the high water I have not had a chance to visit there yet, but I hope to do it in the future.
