Welcome to the second part of my series on the subject of the Prague Metro. Today we will look at the second station of line C, which is called Opatov and is adjacent to the station from the first part.

The station was opened on November 7, 1980 under the name Družby. It was originally supposed to be called Československo-sovětského přátelství (Czechoslovak-Soviet Friendship). In 1990, after the fall of socialism, it was changed to its current name Opatov.
Stanice byla otevřena 7. listopadu roku 1980 pod názvem Družby. Původně se měla jmenovat Československo-sovětského přátelství. V roce 1990 po pádu socialismu se přejmenovala do dnešní podoby Opatov.
Opatov is an excavated station 11 meters below the surface. The cladding consists of fired ceramic tiles and the outer spaces are lined with Muschelkalk Limestone. The frames around the windows are made from brass sheet. The architects of the station are Jiří Navrátil and Michal Flašar.
Opatov je hloubenou stanicí 11 metrů pod povrchem. Obklad tvoří dlaždice z pálené keramiky a vnější prostory jsou obloženy z Vápence Muschelkalk. Rámy okolo oken jsou vyrobeny z mosazného plechu. Architekty stanice jsou pánové Jiří Navrátil a Michal Flašar.
The area around the station is very spacious on one side connecting to the park and on the other side to the brownfield.
Okolí stanice je velmi prostorné z jedné strany navazující na park a z druhé strany na brownfield.
There are also several shops between the metro station and the bus terminal. Some already look like they were from time when the station was built. The grocery store and adjacent quick dining room (Jídelna) are especially worth paying attention to. Despite the ugly appearance. It is one of the few places where you can eat some of the traditional Czech dishes cheaply and tasty.
Mezi stanicí metra a autobusovým terminálem je i několik obchodů. Jež některé vypadají jako z doby kdy byla stanice postavena. Za pozornost stojí především samoobsluha a navazující jídelna. I přes nepěkný vzhled. Je to jedno z mála míst kde se dá levně a chutně najíst některého z tradičních Českých pokrmů.
