A famous lost count in roller coaster history on a famous race track, namely the Ring Racer at the Nürburgring. This roller coaster should beat any high-speed roller coaster in short acceleration. This roller coaster has a pneumatic catapult start (compressed air), which made it from 0 to 160 km/h in 2 seconds. Unfortunately, this roller coaster has so many problems that the pressure vessel sometimes burst. The sound pressure from the compressed air venting was also too enormous that the windows at the Nürburgring broke. Another roller coaster manufacturer dared to retrofit this roller coaster and also throttle it, but it also had its problems. This roller coaster was only open for 3 days, but was tested for three quarters of a year and then closed. It has now been closed since the end of 2013, meaning that 10.4 million euros in taxes have been wasted.
