Crawling through life. 🐌 #snailvibes

There is always a special connection between Rains and Snails. These times of the years when there is heavy rain all round, Snail sighting is very common, espcially in damp areas. While in my village, only small one are found, i found some bigger one here at my current location. Snails has the ability to adapt to varying weather conditions by hiding when it's dry and becoming active when it's wet. I found few bigger one during my visit to local Temple.

The temple has a well.maintained garden. And the moisture place allow them to comes out in search of food and mates. I was in my regular morning visit to the place. I found a big one on the sidewalls of the building. I didn't had the phone with me, as phones were not allowed inside the temple. I went to the guard boy to click these snails but in not time, they vanished.

The one I located on the wall has a bigger shell on its body. It was like a sea conch. I went around looking to find it, but found a different one. Lying on the moisture soil. These snails require moist environments to thrive and are most active when it's wet. Rain provides the necessary humidity for their survival and allows them to move easily and safely in search of food and mates.

There is some amount of difference between a land snails and the sea snails. While the land snails carry a lighter shell on their body, Sea snails have a bigger and heavier shell. These are the nature's gift which allow them to survive in their respective habitat. I was getting desperate to find the bigger one which has size that fit on my palm. Snail always considered to be a slow mover, but it took hardly few minutes to vanish from the area where I located it. After a decent search in the nearby garden area, I found it, lying on the soil. The kouth is filled with wet soil. The shell has a dark brownish texture that gives it a different look.

By the time, I found it the snail, the main creatures has already snugged inside the shell. I didn't manage to capture it. But the moment I tried to pick it up, I notices a white skimmy liquid coming out from the open area. It appears to be sticky, but i avoided to touch it. Later, i learnt, it was the mucus that they release for differrnt purpose. Either when they were sexually aroused or to protect from any danger. That depends upon them, I am yet to figure out what was that in my case.

I managed to capture following close up shots after finding mucus, i avoided any more contact with it. I waited to see the snail cones out but of no avail. It is so amazing how, rain and moist environment make them to comes out. That can be seen in all shape and size. Luckily I had the bigger one, but later, I found a micro one.

There were many synonyms of snail but #slug always remain popular because of their slow walk. Snails are often seen as simple creatures, but they are actually quite amazing roles in #ecosystem. They are important decomposers in various ecosystems, helping to recycle nutrients and keep environments healthy. Every creature have their own role and so does these simple one too. It was fascinating to find a bigger one in land.

In good faith - Peace!!
