It was a rain day for us in Vermont. So I went back and looked at the last couple of Falls. The first photo is from Sugar Hill Reservoir in 2024. I caught it right at golden hour.
This photo is also of Sugar Hill Reservoir or Goshen Dam as lots of the locals call it. This looks like an island but is actually connected to the shore on the other side. Sugar Hill Reservoir is located in Addison County, Vermont.
Here is Abbey Pond from 2024. We hiked this a few weeks ago. Its a little farther along in this picture. I think we caught it closer to peak this year. Abbey Pond is also in Addison County, Vermont.
Here is a photo of Lake Dunmore from 2024. This is more color than I am seeing right now. Lake Dunmore is another location in Addison County.

I'm hoping this storm passes without totally ending the fall colors season for 2026. Its been windy and we already have 1.5" of rain.

We got through all the rain and still had lots of color yesterday. I took 80 photos! Sigh... some will be up today.
That golden hour one is stunning!
Our colors made it through the rain as well. That golden hour photos was a beautiful accident. It was a hike that went a little too long and the sun was setting... then the sunset colors hit the changing leaves and it was like magic.
This is truly heaven, life must be unique in such a place.
