I took some photos of the late summer, late afternoon sun in green Vermont. As summer begins to fade, the sun is getting lower in the sky. In the evening, it backlights the trees and cast shadows.
Sun struggles to get through the leaves casting shadows on much of the yard.
As the sun goes behind the trees looking west, the forest goes dark.
But on the eastern side, the evening sun is the brightest of the day.
My garden gets direct light this time of the evening.
The pines above bask in the light.
But the shadows are marching across the yard.
This little oak casts a perfect shadow.
The dappled sunlight advances toward the eastern tree line.
The yard is nearly all covered in shadows.
That's cool how you tracked the shadows. Your yard is really lovely and green right now!
Thanks. My yard goes crazy in the late summer and fall when the sun is less intense. We have been getting a little rain consistently too.
