County Court House

Windham County Court House. Newfane, Vermont.

Union Hall

We took a road trip and happened to pass through Newfane, Vermont. There are several historical New England buildings on the town common.

Community Church

These two photos are churches built in the 1830's. The Union Hall was built by the collective efforts of three different congregations. The second church with the taller spire is the Congregational Church.

Newfane

We did feel welcome in this small town.

General Store

We bought a huge cinnamon bun in the cute general store.

Sheriffs Department

The sheriffs department fits the general aesthetic of the town but is a much more humble building. It is probably necessarily close to the court house since it seems to include a jail.

Yes all the buildings are still in use. New England loves it old buildings.

The white cladding of the walls of the buildings combines favorably with the surrounding landscape.

Yes the white buildings with green shutters are a very New England look.

This is a great historic place. It looks like a movie set.

It kinda has that feel. Maybe a backlot at a Hollywood studio haha

Given that I'm mostly familiar with this historic area only through movies and shows, I get a Salem-witch-trials kind of vibe, or perhaps the kind of movie in which angry citizens dump some tea in the harbour 😄
