Today was a cloudy, overcast day. Fall colors are near peak but the lighting is not good.
There are oranges, yellow, pink, reds plus the greens.
The maples are the stars of the show. The maples are what makes Vermont special. They provide a beautiful show each fall. But other trees like this oak also add to the colors.
This is a beautiful maple. Color is great. The shape is great. The fallen leaves forming a perfect circle of yellow on the lawn.
I caught some light on the maples above this cabins by the lake. But you can see the gray sky above.
Here's a proper view of the day. Gray clouds with lots of shadows. A little unsettling becuase lots of winter days will look like this.
But the sun did peak through on occasion.
I got one decent shot of the point on the lake. I was out shooting because tomorrow is going to bet rainy and windy. The beautiful days and peak foliage may be passing quickly.
Here's another representative photo of the day. Overcast, dark shadows, color everywhere but not showing itself. Weather forecasts are already talking about maybe snow this weekend. I guess part of the appeal of fall is that it is fleeting...

Rained here most of the day but was mild, right through the night. 62F at 6AM this morning...
Same here. I think we got about 2 inches of rain. Warm and not rainning this morning.
Even under a gray sky, autumn still finds a way to show its beauty. 🍂 I love the contrast between the dark clouds and the vibrant colors of the maple trees, especially the circle of yellow leaves on the lawn. There’s something a little bittersweet about this season because the colors are beautiful, but they never last long. Thanks for capturing and sharing these lovely moments before winter arrives! 📸🍁
