Spring for now #wednesdaywalk

Its tough

My tough little crocuses.

These early crocus have endured snow, then sun, then snow, then freezing temps. And now more snow is coming. But they have survived.

Closed striped

For today's #wednesdaywalk (hosted by @tattoodjay ) I took some spring photos.

Striped

We have some crocus in our beds and they are the first sign of spring.

Color

Several different colors to brighten up the beds after the dreary winter.

White and yellow

Some of these were planted last year and some the year before... the older ones are well established and starting to spread.

Purple

Even though it seems like spring...

Chickens

And the neighbors chickens are out in the woods enjoying the spring weather...

Stormy

Storms are coming. The wind is already picking up. Rain coming this afternoon. Then turning to snow tonight. Lots of snow. Probably 12 inches or more 🥶

Sort:

It's winding down here. We didn't get nearly as much snow as they had predicted, just a bunch of wet slushy stuff that is already dripping. My daffodils will live to see another day!

Good your flowers will survive. It is just starting here. Rain right now. The wind is what is scary. They are predicting 70 mph gusts. Hard to even sleep through those because of the noise much less the worry about downed trees and power outages.

Oh! We only had 40 mph gusts. No trees down here. Be safe.

I'm sure we will be fine 🤞 we didn't consider this as a high wind area when we moved here but there are a couple of storms a year with very strong winds. We live kind of on the front edge of the mountains and sometimes storms create strong winds down (or up?) the mountains.

It is interesting how topography makes such a difference. Magnolia Bluff is 20 miles to the west and only 1080 ft tall, but I can watch weather radar and when rain storms are moving in from the West, I can watch them get to the bluff and split and go north and south and we never get a single drop of rain here.

Beautiful to see the first spring flowers appear… i have no idea what would be in our garden. It will be a surprise next month 😊
That sounds like a big change. With snow again. Keep warm ☃️

Thanks. We are having so much fun building up our beds with perennials. So much fun to see them return each year plus more 🙂

You are welcome 😊
Thats what I will try to do, once i get to the garden.

it's also getting warm here every day, and those flowers will be out here soon too 😋👌👌👌👌👌☕☕☕☕🍹

Flowers are under 10 inches of snow today lol but they will come back when it warms up and the snow melts

oh :))).... It melts fast .... just not lost hope :))))

These flowers are quite hardy, for them to be able to with stand harsh weather conditions and still come out looking amazing. Wow , just wow.

Nature never ceases to amaze 🌼

These flowers are all beautiful, and I love all their colors too. ❤️☺️

Thanks. They are a little splash of color until the other flowers come up.

I see. Their color combination is so cute.

The flowers on my crocuses were just appearing, and then 20cm of snow... poor things! 😀.

I hear you lol its still snowing here. My snowblower broke today. I had to jerry rig a fix so I could clear the driveway to get to town and look for a part lol

You have to use the shovel... at leastyou don't have to go to the gym afterwards, especially since thid snow is so heavy 😀
