Sunday walk

Afternoon

Happy Sunday from snowy Vermont. Its been snowing a little everyday so we have a covering of snow including on the lake. And ice on the lake since it was down to 11F (-12C) last night.

Snow Shower

The first shot was a little break in the weather. Most days have been more like this snow shower from this morning.

Barred Owl

We had a lucky sighting of a barred owl on today's walk. They blend in so well.

Owl

The owl had just landed in this shot and not tucked its wing in yet. We actually heard the owl first then stopped to listen and were rewarded, seeing the owl fly into a tree near us.

Tracks

And a random shot of bird tracks on the ice in a dusting of snow. Have a great Sunday 🙂

Thanks so much 🙏🙏

Pleasure all mine, always look forward to seeing photography in snow, owl a great bonus!

Bird tracks are beautiful! They are distinct. And I liked the owl.

Thanks I thought the bird tracks were fun 🙂

What a beautiful place. I love the snowy landscapes. It is so relaxing to look at. I could spend hours looking at these photos. Excellent work. Regards.👏

Thanks. The snow is looking nice right now ❄️❄️❄️

I haven't seen such snow covered lake in a while. Do you know how thick is the ice? Approximately 😊

And those tracks are too cute!

It's been so warm where we live that we have planted some stuff yesterday already. I guess you need to wait a bit longer 😁

There are ice fishing huts on the ice now and some snowmobiles so I think it is getting thick. Cold again this morning so the ice should still be building. Our last frost is predicted to be May 28 🙄 I have some apple trees coming around first of May which you can plant as soon as the ground warms up enough to dig a hole lol but our garden isn't planted outside until June.

Oh, 28 May sounds so late. It's when we usually have already between 15 to 20 degrees Celsius. Sounds like you have a very short planting season. What can you plant there? Things like peppers take about 100 days to mature, so would you manage it over there?

We "officially" have 115 day growing season. We start lots of plants under grow lights in the garage to extend the growing season. Some of our plants will already be 60 or even 90 days old when we put them out.

Hmmm, the owl woke out too early for it. I'm glad you got a chance to catch him in picture.

Thanks always fun to see an owl 👍

You're welcome.
