2D or 3D?
That's when I learnt about the 'spatial sense'. Or rather that I have one :D We glued three-dimensional geometrical figures out of paper and drew technical projections of these figures. I discovered that there was, however, a part of mathematics that was very close to me. At the same time, what I didn't have any problems with was causing a lot of trubles for my classmates. I helped others to glue models together before classes, drew prisms for them in their notebooks and calculated volumes. For a while, everything was so easy....
Never-ending pattern
I discovered fractals at the end of primary school. I drew them passionately on the covers of my notebooks without knowing what I was actually drawing. A fractal is an endless pattern that is similar to itself but at different scales. The whole process is not very complicated - you simply repeat the pattern in ongoing feedback loop. Everyone usually sees something familiar in fractals when looking at them - and there is good reason for that. Nature is filled to the brim with fractals - trees - both branches and roots, mountains, clouds, rivers, shells... and flowers of course!
What attracts us so much about plants - apart from the colours, of course - is their piled-up symmetry. One of my favourite examples of a plant fractal are the succulents Aeonium arborescens, which create mathematically perfect compositions and their graceful rosettes resemble flowers.
Visiting my favorite Tree
The photos were taken in Cork, when I visited my Brother couple weeks ago. For one of the walks we went to 'wildlife park Fota'. The place is not just a simply beautiful and very well-maintained park with lots of lawns and lovely picnic areas - but home to all sorts of exotic plant and tree species that many of us are unlikely to encounter on a daily basis.
Most of the trees and shrubs were 'decorated' with plaques bearing the Latin name of the plant and sometimes even the year it was planted. We spent the most time under a giant sequoia. On one of the blogs I've seen someone called sequoia 'Giant Mammoth', I think it is a very appropriate name. It's a plant in the cypress family, and it has many varieties. What the sequoia is famous for, however, is its size - it can reach heights of up to 115.5 m (379 ft), and the diameter of its trunk can be up to 9 m (30 ft).

oh Strega, these are really lovely photos. I like that the plagues are there to help people know the names of the tress. Personally, i havent seen most of the tress before.
now that you have asked, I actually do not know the name of my favorite tree but one thing I know is the tree is a perfect shade. It shields people from both rain and sunlight as it has really thick and wide leave. It is also really tall.
I really loved that too! And I haven't seen many of those trees and plans before too:) That's why I did so many pictures.
They are really the best. One can really see that if visit the big city without ant trees here or there.
Temperature is going crazy in hot day if you are surrounded with concrete and cement without any trees :(

I have never seen trees that looks so unfamiliar, like some kind of fantasy Island, the shapes, tree scales, pines and the flowers. I'm very sure I have never came across any of this not even in my wildest dreams or imaginations.
It is amazing what nature is capable of, some of those trees looks a little scary 😅, one in particular that looks like a palm tree based on the short horns that surrounds the body of the tree, surprisingly it wasn't a palm tree but a different tree entirely based on it's leaves.
The pictures are amazing, I got lost in it a little but I took my time, couldn't jeopardise the opportunity to experience such amusing wonders of nature.

I was thinking the same thing. Even I do sometimes story in parts(come communities have limits on the number of words), but in all fairness - I usually have to go back and read previous post to get full gist of the story:)

I think it was after I reached the end that I realized that I'd gone through dozens of photos. I was that enraptured. These are beautiful and so unique and I don't know why I can't kind beauties like this in my locality.
I saw these beautiful black violet coloured flowers among them. I don't know what's its name but it's really beautiful.
I still don't know names half of those :D I was using app that recognize the plants during my walk, but wasn't able to write this all down:D

Zwartkop Aeonium(or Aeonium arboreum, and type: Zwartkop - the name comes from the German 'szwartz kopf' which means 'black head') , it is a succulent, he absolutely love to be in full sun, and sandy soil:) If you don't have much sun at home it is possible to grow it too, but colour of the leaves will have the traces of green and more red too:) At home you can grow it about 12inches(about 30 cm) tall, but the one I saw in the 'Fota' park was in the greenhouse, and was about 1 meter(about 40inches) tall! Absolutely love them:)

Love the various species of Echeveria! I grow some at home and they are really amazing plants to have arround.
I just adore succulents! Not only becouse those are only species I can grow(becouse I often forgetting to water my plants :D), but that they can grow so beautifully even in very hostile environment. So resilient!
