A világ legnagyobb heliotermikus tavaKialakulásakor a tó vize gyakran elérte a 70 Celsius-fokot is, ez viszont napjainkban már nem jellemző, általában 30-40 fokokat mérnek benne. A tó középső rétegei az úgynevezett heliotermikus hatásnak köszönhetően melegebbek, mint az alsó vagy a felszíni rétegek. Ez a jelenség csak a sóstavakban figyelhető meg.
