59th Street Bridge
Over the last couple of weeks I have taken a few morning walks at sunrise and have plenty of photos from those walks to share, s and some I have shared already, so I decided this morning to look through some of my photos in my folders that I haven't shared yet and ended up going to one of my favorite subjects in NYC
My favorite Bridge without a doubt in NYC is the The Queensboro Bridge, also known as the 59th Street Bridge – because its Manhattan end is located between 59th and 60th Streets – and officially titled the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge,
Ever since I heard the Feeling Groovy Song by Simon and Garfunkel I dreamed of visiting NYC and seeing the bridge.
I was 6 when the song came out and probably heard it about that age and remember reading or being told about the 59th Street Bridge and saying to myself I would visit and see it one day.
I never expected at that age or even in my early 20’s that I would ever make it to visit NYC, At that Stage I dont think I had even made it to the south Island of New Zealand at that stage, but its funny how life can give you turns good or bad and you can never know what will happen.
As it happened I ended up travelling a lot having been to over 60 Countries and ended up working in NYC for close to 20 years and got to see this bridge almost every working day.
And now onto the shots I found

Almost every working day I was in NYC I would make a stroll by the East River and get a few of the Bridge

Perhaps if I had to pick anything I missed from NYC, well let me pick two things, The 59th Street bridge and the Chrysler Building, both with such style and I never tired of seeing each day

BEERKING.Visiting over 60 countries? That is definitely not a cheap thing. You probably also have a profession with good financial stability to be able to financially afford that.
Not all all, I am comfortable, but the travel was for the most part for my job and often to places most have no wish to visit

Strange you remembered from childhood, then seeing it daily never tired of photographing this wonderful sight.
Extraordinary one does reflect back fondly about places one has seen, enjoyed in all types of weather throughout ones working life, sights and sounds all familiar you eventually look back missing them.

Life is funny like that, isn't it? I truly thought I would keep working in NYC and live in Connecticut until I died. I had no idea that I would become a stranger in my own city and yet, it almost feels that way when I go back.
Familiar, just like an older uncle, and I even know many secret things about it, yet, I can tell, I no longer belong. I can tell it is too long I have been gone.
The 59th Street Bridge is truely the favorite of all my things and then I migrate to Grand Central Station, Little Italy, and Chinatown, Empire State Building because... Empire State Building and yes! The Chrysler Building.
Okay, I love it all and I love this post!
