Playing with light
Good morning, have a great day
Today I will share a series of photos I am calling Playing with Light, mostly long exposures in the early morning, when I caught or, in one case, created some light effects.
Starting with this photo of the Swing Truss Bridge between New Bedford and Fairhaven, I got to this spot, and waited till I saw a vehicle approaching, and took this photo, catching a light trail as the car went by.
Early morning, there isn't a lot of traffic, so I sometimes have to wait a while to get this effect

From a similar spot approaching the bridge, this time the light trail is from the barrier arms going back up as they are about to reopen the bridge for vehicle traffic.
This is a shot I love catching when I go to Pope's Island, but I haven't had much luck on the last couple of visits there; at the time I was there, they never closed the bridge for road traffic to let fishing boats head out.

This next one is is I am about to cross the road from the port to the business district, again the red lines are light trails from cars passing by.

and a similar shot from the same spot just looking another direction

This one is a bit different and one I guess some will not like. I was taking photos of the carousel building at Battleship Cove in Fall River MA, and decided to try a bit on intentional camera movement, zooming in and out on the lens during a long exposure. I kind of like the funky feel to it

And this is another funky one of the Portuguese tall ship the Sagres, but with one exception: this wasn't intentional. I was taking a three-photo shot and forgot or didn't realise it was still taking the last shot when I moved my camera

This is more what I was aiming for in the previous photo, without any camera movement

and to finish off a bit of light painting, which I havent done much of this year yet, but with the sunrise getting later and me still waking early I will no doubt try some more soon

I think the third shot is my favorite. The red lights against the mono background are awesome!
Hello, dear friend @tattoodjay, how are you?
I love the long-exposure photography technique you mentioned, as well as the play of light.
Have a great day.
Nice shots. I like the third shot with the tail lights approaching the bridge.
Good day, Mr. @tattoodjay.
I love your knowledge of photography; you take beautiful shots, and I really enjoy the play of light you incorporate into your images.
Have a wonderful day.
