In the last month I have found myself feeling stagnate. The feeling of repetition has been creeping into my photos, due to a focus on work rather than fun. This became very clear a few days ago when I got out to do some light trail photos. I spent hours taking many shots and not a single one of them worked out. My setting where off, the locations were off, they were just completely off.
So last night I set out to correct this and most of all have fun doing it! Wanting a challenge to focus on, I set up with some puddles on the streets. Reflection shots can be very challenging but can also have incredible results.

After these two photos I felt good and felt the "groove" coming back. I needed more challenges and after capturing random people standing still enough for the long exposure shots. I decided to try capturing more people.

Again I felt so much better and wanted to keep going. I decided to try out more layered shots as I wandered through downtown Hamilton Ont.

I quickly realized what I have been missing and why I had been feeling as I was. I was not challenging myself and becoming comfortable in what I was doing. I went against a personal rule of mine, never get too comfortable for anything!
Never forget to challenge yourself! It is where growth is.
