I have been waiting all week to do some good hiking! Mainly because this has been the first solid week of regular winter conditions for Southern Ontario. Temperatures hovering between -10 to -25 degrees Celsius. I wasn't sure if that would be long enough to freeze waterfalls in the area, but with Temps expected to rise back above +5 this week, it would be try now or who knows when.
The first waterfall I checked was Buttermilk falls in Stoney Creek Ontario and it did not disappoint! The 75 foot tall terraced ribbon waterfall was almost completely frozen over. Displaying incredible ice formations and a nice teal hue to areas of the ice. Both became absolutely stunning after following a trail behind the waterfall.

Majestic shots! Looks like a scene from a movie!
It is an incredible spot!! Will be doing more there before it melts (sadly within the next couple days)
Wow, the pictures are great, I loved them, you did a great job my friend, cheers! 🤗🙌🏻
Thank you!!!
I have never seen these ice conformations so spectacular. These photos you took are beautiful, I also like the ones where there are various reflections. I think the temperatures are really very cold in those parts
