Saying that Southern Ontario's weather can be crazy is a complete understatement! This weekend was a perfect example of why. On Friday the temperature was 4 degrees Celsius during the day and was on and off rain. But the weather man was calling for snow in the evening. About 1cm per hour for most of the night.
A friend and I decided to go out for photos around the time they were calling for it to start, 1 or 2cm of snow is nothing major and the temps still hovering around -4 Celsius it wouldn't be bad at all. Unfortunately and fortunately the weatherman was off like usual. While on our way to the entrance of a storm drain with the nickname of the Juggernaut, we got dumped on with about a foot of snow within an hour and then it stopped (we got no more snow for the rest of the night). The snow created some beautiful scenery and made for some cool looking steel wool shots!
As we started to make our way out of the area, the snow started to get slushy and the tops of trees that had a nice coating of snow were already bare. In under 2 hours that much snow fell and was already starting melt.
We still wanted to do some more shots, so we quickly got some lights out and started spinning.
The snow continued to melt, by the time we got close to the road, the trees were 80% bare.
I was so glad that we got out for that shot winter blast! And as for the crazy Ontario weather, by the middle of the night it was 5 degrees and the snow was gone. Saturday dropped to -12 (nearly a 20 degree change in less than 12 hours) and Sunday was - 16. This morning is even worse lol we have -25 degrees this morning so far.
