Chandra taal lake| Natural lake

Hello hivers I hope you all are doing fine. As you know my journey never stops. I went to Chandrataal lake which is a tourist attraction now and many people come from different places to see this beautiful lake.

Chandra taal is a source of chandra river which meets in chinab river. Chandra taal is a holy place also and people used to take bath inside it but after a guy died inside the lake it is prohibited to take bath inside the lake.

Chandrataal lake is also known as Tso Chigma. It is situated in Lahaul which is the part of Lahaul and spiti district. It can be reached from both side Lahaul and Spiti. The diameter of this lake is 1 km.

Chandra taal lake named because it is crescent in the shape. And it looks beautiful in rainy season because you will see beautiful flowers near by the lake and the water of this lake is crystal clear.

But this time when reached to Chandrataal I realise that there was no snow on mountains it is because of global warming. Global warming is destroying glaciers so its the duty of human being to clean the dirty areas and plant more trees to stop this.

This lake is situated in lahaul but it comes in spiti region as well. kunzum pass separated lahaul and spiti. After that you need to offroad your vehicle to Chandrataal. The oxygen level is low so take medicines with you.

Many people go by trekking and many comes in their vehicle. But if you coming with you vehicle you need to drive carefully because there is no mechanics throught the journey. You will also see some water sources which comes from the mountains but can be dangerous anytime. So if you are going there you should be responsible and helpful.
