The Public Library is one of my absolute favourite buildings in Seattle. The impressive main building, designed by Rem Koolhaas, is architecturally fascinating and a landmark of the city. The SPL offers an extensive collection of books, digital resources, audiovisual media and more. In addition to its function as a library, it also serves as a lively social meeting place and offers a variety of events, programmes and workshops for people of all ages. With its commitment to promoting education, culture and community, the Seattle Public Library plays a central role in the cultural life of the city. On an afternoon with clearing skies after heavy rain, I visited a fairly hidden viewpoint that is open to the public but hardly anyone knows about. There I had a great perspective of the building to photograph it.
Die Public Library gehört zu meinen absoluten Lieblingsbauwerken in Seattle. Das beeindruckende Hauptgebäude, entworfen von Rem Koolhaas, ist architektonisch faszinierend und ein Wahrzeichen der Stadt. Die SPL bietet eine umfangreiche Sammlung von Büchern, digitalen Ressourcen, audiovisuellen Medien und mehr. Neben ihrer Funktion als Bibliothek dient sie auch als ein lebendiger sozialer Treffpunkt und bietet eine Vielzahl von Veranstaltungen, Programmen und Workshops für Menschen aller Altersgruppen. Mit ihrem Engagement für die Förderung von Bildung, Kultur und Gemeinschaft spielt die Seattle Public Library eine zentrale Rolle im kulturellen Leben der Stadt. An einem Nachmittag mit aufklarendem Himmel nach starkem Regen besuchte ich einen ziemlich versteckten Aussichtspunkt, der öffentlich zugänglich ist, aber den kaum jemand kennt. Dort hatte ich eine tolle Perspektive auf das Gebäude, um es zu fotografieren.
