Aktru Mountain River

One day we had planned an exit to the Maly Aktru glacier. We were looking forward to this event, because from a distance everything seemed so attractive there. And the most important thing is that the Aktru River will start from it. It flowed along our camp and we constantly saw its rapid flow. Although we had sufficient supplies of drinking water, we still tasted the water of this mountain river. No one was poisoned and no one even had a stomach ache.

And the banks of this river are actually very picturesque. It flows through a stone bed and washes huge boulders. Many small and large streams flow out of the glacier itself. Sometimes it seems that you are walking along a very shallow and wide river with many islands.

But after the rain, these peaceful streams can turn into stormy rapids that will easily knock you off your feet. Besides, walking on slippery rocks is a very dangerous activity. You can easily twist your leg. And it is impossible to get qualified medical care in such a remote place.

Although there was a rescue station not far from our camp. But it would be very, very expensive to call a helicopter here. Fortunately, no one had to commit such embezzlement, everyone remained unharmed.

And drinking mountain water is a pleasure. Of course it's very cold. It's so cold that it makes your teeth ache. And this is not surprising at all, because it is meltwater and flows from a glacier. Imagine putting snow in your mouth and chewing - it will be very cold.

If we had the opportunity, we would definitely take some of this meltwater with us. Women, of course, washed from this river, they say that meltwater has a beneficial effect on the condition of the skin. I don't know, I don't really believe in it ;)

The only mountains that can be better than mountains are those that you have not been to yet!
