Greetings of Peace and Happiness to each and everyone.

I hope you are all doing well and are safe at this extraordinary times.

This is @uwanderer once again and I will be taking you with me heading to one of the hidden gem of the southern part of the Cebu province which is Samboan Municipality and explore the hidden natural wealth dubbed as "Dao Falls".

With this let us pack our bags, secure your gear. And let's hit the road heading to "Dao Falls."

"Short Insight of Dao Falls"

It is situated in the barangay (village) Suba. Its distant from metro Cebu is estimated around 138 kilometers. From the metro Cebu heading to Samboan will take us around 4 hours in private vehicle and 5 hours if we take the bus ride.

Samboan is close by from the tourist destination area namely Oslob, Moalboal and Badian. We you are seeking for a non-tourist destination but still packed with adventure and nature masterpiece, Samboan perfectly fit in that spot.

Heading to the southern part of Cebu is really but cracking as the traffic is really severe, I strongly recommend to travel at dawn to skip from the painful traffic experience.

There is an advantage leaving the metro Cebu at day as it gives you the opportunity to have a glimpse of the sunrise in the coastal area which is really nice to gaze at.

The peaceful scenery, county type of vibe, resonate to our souls as we traverse the southern coastal road of south Cebu province.

Gentle Reminder

Bring a dry bag to keep you electronic devise safe from water exposure.
Make sure to used outdoor sandals or Slippers with good soles as river trekking is difficult. Also, include sunblock as we will be trekking for a couple of houra depending on your pacing.
Take with you enough water and meals for the trip. As there is no food stall or store nearby.
Bring medication with you in a zip lock as there are no pharmacy nearby.
Get a local guide to assist you/us in exploring the Dao Falls. It is also our safeguarding personnel in times of safety and security. The tip will also help the local community.

Dao Falls is known for its crystal clear waters, stunning cascading waters, relaxing and mind blowing nature's beauty, cool and refreshing dip in some of its lagoon and streams.

As we reach Samboan municipality, we will stop at the nearest bus stop. From there we need to buy our extra water, additional trail snacks for us and also for the local guide, and our lunch as well. After buying the essential needs we will make arrangements with he local motorcycle driver to take us to Dao Falls entry point. Also inform them to pick us up depending on the time we wish to be pick up. The single motorcycle ride will take us around an hour to reach the Dao Falls entry point. In local language, a single motorcycle ride is called Habal-Habal.

As we reach at the registration area where the Habal2x drop us off. We need to register ourselves with our individual information.

"Essential Tip"

Do notify your family you will be heading to Dao Falls. Please be informed that there is a limited network access or mobile reception in most of the journey heading to falls.

Please be informed the Dao Falls will be close during rain season or experiencing bad weather. It is important to cancel or postpone the visit to avoid casualty and injury as water level in the falls increase drastically during rainy season and bad weather causing strong water currents cascading the water flow of the falls and streams.

After registration we were introduced to the local guide. The local guide gave us a short orientation about the trail and the habitat that we are encountering and also the potential danger if we slip from the rocks which will be giving us cuts, bruises and sprains.

In a span of 20 minutes we will be welcomed by green vegetation, then we slowly descend to the small cliffs and thick stone walls above us and cool streams below us flowing freely around our feet.

After the walking in the streams, we will be uphike in the carved and partially cemented stoned paved walls as pathway heading deeper to Dao Falls.

Each scene revolving the trail are Instagramable and worth taking pics but due to slippery path I barely snippet sa pics.

Dao falls is beyond our expectations. It's turquoise blue water is so inviting and soothing to our tired body. What's more fascinating about it is you can see good size of fishes swimming in the lagoon or swimming basin.

Its relaxing view will make you fall in love with nature. Truly, it's enchanting sight can harmonize your trouble heart and soul.

Dao Falls is a must visit place in Samboan. It doesn't just offer picture-perfect views and angle. It's a great and worthy placed to venture with. A safe haven to all adventurers, nature travelers, backpackers, hikers, trekkers, families, friends and loved ones. Definitely you will love it.
