Hi there , hivers , been a while since my last post.
2 months ago, i was in Velebit the mountain range in Croatia, located along the country's Adriatic coast. It is the largest mountain range in Croatia and spans over 145 km in length. The mountain range is known for its rugged terrain, diverse plant and animal life, and stunning scenery. It is also home to several national parks, including Paklenica National Park and Northern Velebit National Park, which attract hikers, climbers, and nature enthusiasts from all over the world. The Velebit range is an important part of Croatia's natural and cultural heritage, and is recognized as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.
This pictures are taken on Zavižan mountain peak and a mountain hut located in Northern Velebit National Park in Croatia. Zavižan is the highest peak in Northern Velebit, with an elevation of 1,757 meters (5,764 feet).The hut is situated at an altitude of 1,597 meters (5,240 feet) and is open throughout the year, providing accommodation and food for visitors. From Zavižan, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges, as well as access to numerous hiking trails and natural attractions such as the Premužić Trail and the botanical garden. The area around Zavižan is rich in biodiversity, with many plant and animal species endemic to the region.

In the picture below, you can see the Zavižan mountain lodge where you can spend the night, but it's necessary to bring your own sleeping bags. My friend Tomo works at the lodge, and he will be happy to welcome you and offer something warm to cozy your soul during these cold times.
The silence is priceless, here and there the sound of the merciless wind can be heard shaping beautiful landscapes.
