I hope you are all well.
A photographic project centered on craftsmanship can be a powerful and evocative way to capture the essence of different professions, cultures and ways of life. The hands are incredibly expressive and convey a wide range of emotions and actions, making them a perfect subject for photographic exploration.
In my case, the hands of the mechanics who work here in the workshop have been the object of a project still in progress that could continue and include other professions.
By isolating the hands and showing the work they are doing, the photographs highlight the precision and attention to detail needed to keep the cars running smoothly. They can also convey the physical demands and challenges of the job, from working in tight, dark spaces to handling heavy machinery.
I opted for B&W in most of them to give more drama and contrast.

As I said, it's still a work in progress, and more material will come in the future.

Um projeto fotográfico centrado no trabalho manual pode ser uma maneira poderosa e evocativa de capturar a essência de diferentes profissões, culturas e modos de vida. As mãos são incrivelmente expressivas e transmitem uma ampla gama de emoções e ações, tornando-as um assunto perfeito para exploração fotográfica.
No meu caso, as mãos dos mecânicos que trabalham aqui na oficina tem sido objeto de um projeto ainda em andamento que pode continuar e incluir outras profissões.
Ao isolar as mãos e mostrar o trabalho que estão fazendo, as fotografias destacam a precisão e atenção aos detalhes necessários para manter os carros funcionando sem problemas. Eles também podem transmitir as demandas físicas e os desafios do trabalho, desde trabalhar em espaços apertados e escuros, até manusear máquinas pesadas.
Optei pelo B & W na maioria delas para dar mais drama e contraste.

When I see the hands in the photos, I can still hear my wife saying "put on a glove". But when I screw on a car, I start and forget the gloves. Then my hands look the same if not worse. Very nice photos.
yeah, I know. We have a lot of gloves here, all hanging on the wall. No one wears. Mecanics like to feel the skin of the engine. Glad you like it.
