As I've always said in almost all of my photography posts, natural light is very important to me and is my primary source of light for the photos I like to take, which includes everything from street photography to landscape photography, and even occasionally portraits. However, that doesn't mean I don't like artificial light. It's not what I usually do, for many reasons. First, because I don't have artificial light sources, but I used to work with artificial light when I worked for an audiovisual production company.

Among the light characteristics I always look for during the day is strong light, so it must be a completely clear day with not a hint of cloud cover, and above all, intense sunlight. Therefore, I usually take photos during times when the sun is strongest, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. or between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., although I also occasionally enjoy it at dawn or dusk.

On the other hand, here you can see some examples of how I use light when composing my photographs. This time, I'm presenting this series in black and white because it's how I achieve the best results when it comes to creating texture and contrast, as in this case, where I can create a greater range of black tones in contrast to the lighter parts of the scene. The subjects vary among animals and, on occasion, people.

All photographs are my own.
