I saw a similar shaped Moskvitch the other day too that was in near perfect condition. But even the oldest and most beaten-up Ladas look like they'll chug along for another 2 decades. I don't think it's just a case of money here, I think people genuinely have had these cars for generations and at this point they remain so reliable and easy to fix that there's no point in buying the newest electric car or whatever. Especially when so many people use these for transporting farm produce or construction gear
Would love to own one of the older Moskvitch models though, the bigger 50s looking ones. Beautiful things.
