We are really excited to announce the next feature in Rising Star that will be released soon - music NFTs and "Rising Star Angels".

Oh no. This is very different!
As always we are always looking at innovative ways to make Rising Star as close to real life as possible and our next update blurs the lines between gaming and the real music business.
Music NFTs Playable Inside The Game - Calling Independent Musicians!
Firstly artists will be able to purchase a batch of NFTs of their own music that can then be sold for any Hive Engine token they wish.
These NFTs will count towards the "Unique Cards" in the rankings within Rising Star so there is an incentive for players to purchase them.
Every NFT you purchase will be playable in the game and you can listen to a preview of any you don't own to help you decide what to buy. You will also be able to download the full track for use elsewhere.
We are even thinking of creating a separate log in at our sister website Atom Collector Records so that people who don't play Rising Star can buy and manage their NFT collection there.

But here's the fun bit!
You will be able to stake STARBITS against all the "records" NFTs and earn a share of a STARBITS pool every time the artist sells an NFT!
We are working on the final touches and testing and hope to open this up to independent musicians very soon so spread the word!

That's really cool. I have the first 2 parts of my 4/20 set tokenized on NFTshowroom already, I like the certificate design, that's pretty cool. I just did a cool looking colored vinyl and added a bonus GIF that has it spinning on a turntable.
Awesome to see you implement it, I mentioned it in discord on cannafest 4/20 I seen you said something like the design minus the pig. You had a good set that day I'm happy that blockchain goes artists a good platform for their media I cant name how many talented people I know that couldn't go anywhere with their talent small gigs but no big break.
Ideally NFTs revive a lot of media the internet temporarily devalued hive helps small time writers NFTs make game items to collectables even art more valuable and legitimized. Great to see the weedcash emblem on a NFT as well.
I fairly certain that the WAX market is problematic to involve with Hive, However this is a hypathetical can the weedcash store be involved ? the Burn use case on many of the smartcontract enabled WAX nfts can be broken down fairly easily to determine weather a collection will succeed or not. This is where i got my album out of an RNG NFT pack meaning like splinterlands assets the NFTs are not packaged but divided randomly based on total number assets divided by the number of packs to determine the odds.
these are not all for games many of them are for art or collectables like mine was in a collectable pack that started as a concept art line. The packs are the easiest way to build major market activity and publicity Designs can be simplistic but weed is popular on wax anyway.
https://mutant-rockers.com/ is a collection launching in a day and a half produced by R2 and EOS Amsterdam These two companies do very well in the correct asset to collection ratio by incentivizing NFT burning with Burn only assets.
I started with $100 and flipped NFTs until I made over a thousand dollars the market has a daily sale volume of around $3,000,000 Its easily understood by an average consumer so a project that both served as advertising but was legitimized with a burn system / wax website pairing it could serve as a major monetary shot in the arm for weedcash and hive

I'm pretty ambivalent about NFTs outside of the context of something like RS, so have avoided doing anything with my music until some clear benefit other than making a quick $$$ presents itself. 😉
This, though, sounds fun and make perfect sense in the context of the game. And really does extend the boundaries of what the game is - in a good way. Nice one!

I know you feel NFTs make things more complicated for the muggles and I hear you however something that has actually happened in the art world is that NFTs are bringing people who had no interest in crypto into it. Now granted most of them are just after a quick buck but once you go down the crypto rabbit hole there's no coming back! :P Many don't even realise it is crypto at first as they just follow the instructions on the relevant site.
Gigantic stuff! If I'm being honest, I still struggle with the concept of exclusivity when it comes to non-fungible creative works. That discussion stretches far beyond #RisingStar of course, but what is really stopping an artist from reproducing a work sold earlier as a "limited run". There can only be one original physical painting, but digital copies can be infinite.
That being said, I do invest in art NFTs... and I do !LUV this idea. But I'm always curious to hear people's perspectives when it comes to this new creative #NFT world. There will inevitably be precedent-setting conflicts down the road.
The difference here is that the NFT will add to your unique cards count for the ranking and you will also be able to play the music you own in game so it has added value above and beyond just the mp3 file.
I would not have even bothered releasing music NFTs without these additional incentives as I am also of the opinion that most NFTs are pointless and it's all a bit of a "hype train" at the moment.
Incredible what is changing the game since I started just 2 months ago. All these news give greater interest to users.

I agree about the art NFTs though. Unless you are a well known artist I don't see the value. Sure it is great if people want to support you but to think of them as investments is a bubble waiting to burst imo. Why would the first mint # of a doodle from an unknown person ever be worth anything? Beats me!
I do like the idea of things like The Kings Of Leon did though where the NFT also gives you a backstage pass to a gig. The fact that you can prove it's yours and therefore get the additional benefits makes a lot more sense.
Exactly, it's the real-life value that counts. An intrinsic value is important. Not a would-be / extrinsic / whatever people wish to attach to their work in the hope to get a piece of this virtual cake.
