Happy Birthday To Us!
Can you believe it's four years since we launched Rising Star!
As usual it's time to celebrate and this is our biggest one yet!
In this post:
- Limited edition champagne card
- Launch of PRO mode
- A complete redesign with land and many new game modes to come!
Limited Edition Champagne Card
We asked in Discord for suggestions for this year's celebratory card and there were some great suggestions but we decided to go with the @stickupboys suggestion of champagne expertly animated by @nupulse
This card works in the same way as the previous ones giving you a 100% energy refill with a 12 hour cooldown.
We decided to sell this for 2000000 STARBITS this year and it will be available until the end of April.
PRO Mode
PLEASE NOTE: all the settings in PRO mode are subject to change as people start to create their bands / solo artists and release singles as it's hard to know exactly how everything will work until it is in use.
We will do a more detailed tutorial later but for now here is a brief introduction:
- You will need at least one PRO character and their corresponding instrument to create a PRO artist (the icon on the cards show you which instruments match which musicians).
- PRO cards need to be levelled up (using the "PRO Lesson" mission) to at least level 10 to be eligible to release singles.
The card level is stored on the blockchain and can be seen on the cards page and market within the game. (NFTmart will also be showing the level of the PRO cards in the near future.)
- Once you have your artist ready you can then record, produce, distrubute and release singles. Each step is required in this order but you don't have to complete all steps before recording more singles.
The icons on the PRO mission list show how many you have at each stage.
- Use "Manage Singles" to release singles into the charts. The band will default to your current one but you can use the yellow button to change it. You will also need to use the "Name Single" button to name or change the name of your single (please keep them clean and respectful but be creative!).
- Once named you can distribute your single.
- And once distributed the single is ready to be released (again using "Manage Singles").
Although this page looks quite complicated you can hover over each element to get a description.
As you can see a number of elements go into calculating the "Chart Entry Points" for your singles.
You can also run the "Promote Single" mission to accumulate points that can be used to boost your chart entry position. Click the "-" and "+" buttons to see how the estimated chart entry position is affected.
As mentioned above everything here is subject to change as it's hard to know how it will all work until we have many players releasing singles. We will do our best to find the right balance to make it as fair as possible for everyone.
- Release your single(s) and wait for the chart to update at approximately midnight UK time.
Singles have their chart points reduced by 10% per day and when they are lower than 100 they are removed from the chart (again subject to change).
We look forward to your feedback in Discord.
The reward pool is starting at just 1 SWAP.HIVE until the chart starts to fill up and we will slowly increase it.

And now for our top secret announcement!
We have been working on a complete overhaul of the game in the background and now it is time to announce it:
Brand New Interface and Land
Soon you will be able to help us test our brand new interface which will bring a much more dynamic and realistic experience to players of Rising Star.
Not only will you be able to run the standard missions by clicking on the relevant building within Buskeria but you will also be able to purchase you own land plots, build venues and offer incentives (such as bonus STARBITS) for players to run their missions at your venues instead of those in Buskeria!
Plot owners will earn points for everyone who runs missions at their venues and there will be leaderboards and rewards.
Musicians will be able to build a record shop on their land and showcase their record NFTs.
Streamers and musicians will be able to build a stadium with video screen and embed a YouTube video or Twitch stream.
New game modes will be integrated such as treasure hunts and "Side Hustles".
In the next few weeks we will add a menu option to the game so that people an start to explore the maps and help us test it all out.
I am sure many of you will have some great ideas for new game modes using the maps and we would love to hear them in Discord.
