No. But it provides carbohydrates which feeds the plant.

Cool, yeah I figure it's similar to compost tea... a gentle 'multivitamin' of nutrients from a natural source. It's inexpensive to add a couple spoonfulls to the water bucket. Can't nute burn your plants. I don't see much or any potential downside.
