I recently discovered an amazing grow supplies shop, just south of Boston, in Braintree MA, Gardin Indoor & Outdoor Garden Shop
for an event with the Gardens by Gilf’s crew
lately, they have been holding cannabis education themed events highlighting various aspects of cannabis culture.
They’ve had classes on making hash,
pressing buds to make distillate, A panel discussion on edibles
and there are a number of other classes lined up for the future.
Gardin's lush multi-purpose open floor-planned space actually functions as a community platform for exactly this kind of thing.
GARDIN grow shop was started a number of years ago by Matt Reisman and his team, with a mission to "push the future of home agriculture and gardening – from Aquaponics to Zero based compost"
Matt is super cool and even has dogs and fish on his team.
If you didn't know, Massachusetts is a great place for cannabis events, as folks here are able to participate in legal home-grow and of course legal recreational cannabis available as well. There has been a noticeable amount of lost stigma here and is now more common for folks to assume cole slaw, to be the "devils lettuce" that the remnant of prohibitionists may be talking about.
And so cannabis related hobbies are very popular to the point where it has not become uncommon for grandparents to participate in the art of the craft with their adult children and grandchildren.

It’s great to participate in community events especially where there’s "edibles" involved and you get to eat infused food with your homies.

in spite of the federal scheduling which would erroneously argue that cannabis is dangerous and without any good use.

For folks who are already involved in infusing products with cannabis, it’s a great opportunity to ask other enthusiasts about their techniques or even more specific questions regarding utilizing cannabis in the kitchen.
Some of the classes are also about using industrial press machines to squeeze goopy goodness out of homegrown buds
Advanced cannabis enthusiasts know that strain selection is a very important component of growing award winning cannabis as some stains may smoke or yield well, but may not produce a lot of rosin.
One gem that i took away from the class, was that the success of some strains may also be specific to the locations environment, and the length of a regions particular "grow season".
and so depending on the desired outcome or goal of the grow project, it’s important to keep in mind that the specific cultivar can really determine results.
Also coming out to his class is a great way to meet people who are doing interesting things with cannabis.
One can learn a lot just from having conversations with people who are engaged in similar hobbyist processes.
As per house rules, you can’t actually smoke inside of Gardin,
and so the move is to go outside to do the puff puff pass and so everyone interested will form these massive smoke circles,
which is actually one of the more fun parts of the night. It’s like a big ganja party
There are also always things to take home as well, The homies at the baked bakers throw a bunch of stuff in a bag and Gilf always hooks it up for sure.
It’s great that people have been safely doing things with cannabis for a while now. I’ve learned more in the past few years about the different aspects of its use, as participants in the culture are now able to share their information openly,
to some degree anyway, and events like this are great, even if you’re not considering going into the profession of cannabis they’re certainly worth checking out.
You never know who you will meet, or what they will go onto doing,
and so you can take advantage of an opportunity, to meet industry pioneers and learn something as well.
