Last week the Orange Apricot cannabis plant was harvested, it's been trimmed, dried, weighed, and sampled, tasty buds.
Orange Apricot
This Orange Apricot cannabis plant was harvested seven days ago, after eight weeks of bloom time. Grown from a crossbred seed that was produced by pollinating an Orange Barb bud with Pink Apricot pollen, I can see, smell, taste, and feel in the buzz that there are characteristics from both parent strains.

This plant only had five weeks of vegetative growth before being put into bloom. After week three it had some main stalk bent stem training so the branches would raise up with the main cola, to try to get maximum growth with the LED lights.
After harvest, the plant was hung up in the basement bathroom with the exhaust fan on constantly for a gentle air flow.

Trimmed
I got around to giving the plant a quick trim the next day after harvest. The fan leaves are the first to go, a quick snip at the base and they're gone.

After a quick and rough trim of the bud leaves the stalks were ready for six more days of drying. These resinous buds are super sticky, you can see some purple tones on the top colas. Some of the newest pistils are still white, they'll shrivel and turn orange soon.

Buds Dried
Seven days after harvest and trimming, the buds were dry enough for sampling and storing.
All the buds were snipped off of the stalks, I was left with many good size cola buds too.

The total weight for this harvest came out to 63.83 grams, just over two ounces, not too shabby. This plant's clone is in bloom right now, it had six weeks of veg time compared to this plant's five weeks, so I'm curious to see what the difference in harvest will be, I'm guessing six weeks of veg growth will be my new minimum standard.
The weighed up buds go into air tight glass jars for curing and storage. After initially drying the buds they are dryer on the outside than the inside, curing the buds in an air tight container for a few days helps to equalize the moisture for a smooth smoke.
The dried buds have dark and light greens, ample mats of long orange pistils, and a solid coating of crispy trichomes.

The Flavor
Sweet candy-like orange and apricot, slight citrus sour flavor - bright and lightly mouth tingling smooth tokes.
The Feels
Soft and relaxing cushion, mind still energetic, eyes slightly relaxed. Sativa leaner, an uplifting and cheerful buzz, I'd blaze these buds during the day or night time. I'll be growing many more of these Orange Barb x Pink Apricot crossbred seeds, they'll be the first ones that I start to stabilize.

I used to garden myself and miss it. I dont miss trimming, used to take me 2-3 hours a plant pre-hanging. I did enjoy making scissor hash 😁

Thanks man, the trimming is the most labor intensive for sure, the curse of a big harvest, but atleast the reward is at the finger tips :) these days I mostly focus on the fan leaves the first day or two, then a quick trim of the bud leafs and it's done. Always a treat to get some purps for the multicolor buds :)

These beauties will last a me a few weeks, I've been liking the Apricot strains, they've got just enough uplifting for daytime tokes :)

I didn't know how much I liked the Apricot strains until I was out of them for a month, happy to have this daytime smoke back in the jars, I'll be sure to keep stocked up on this strain :D
Sometimes I missed the names, orange apricot and pink apricot. What's the difference between them and You didn't show their flowers? Is it flowering or not? I don't know much about these plants that's why I asking for.
This harvest was Orange Apricot (a name I made up).. it was grown from seed that I produced by cross breeding an Orange Barb plant with a Pink Apricot plant a couple months ago, this Orange Apricot is their offspring.
This was the Orange Barb that produced the crossbred seed a couple months ago for this grow..

It's the genetics for sure, the parents Pink Apricot always has lots of big and thick pistils, the Orange Barb had mats of big orange pistils too :)
